Visiting Bolivia is best undertaken in a 4x4 off-road vehicle!! Even though public transport is fairly well developed between major cities it is basically non-existent between the more secluded areas. The road network is getting better but is still underdeveloped in many areas and a 4x4 off-road vehicle is indispensable.
